Reviews of Coyote

'Five stars. I am in love with this series, the twists and turns in the storyline and the unpredictable nature of each discovery makes me enjoy rereading Rhonda Roberts Timestalker series every time to find new clues...The Wild West setting in this novel was genius! Not many books are out there about an independent woman who goes to a time before the term suffragette existed and still manages to power through her time there.'

'I enjoyed this novel a lot and had fun reading it. Although the historical events and the places at the centre of the story in the Wild West are made up (other than the obviously real cities of San Francisco and Santa Fe), Roberts has obviously done her research. She includes a lot of interesting historical facts and details many of which were new to me... I really like Kannon as a character ... I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Each book has stood more or less alone and each has introduced a new weird thing (of the fantasy-ish variety) happening in relation to the past ... I highly recommend this series if you enjoy strong (in both connotations of the phrase) heroines and varied story lines. Coyote doesn't disappoint.'

Reviews of Hoodwink

'Hoodwink is the second in the "Kannon Dupree - Timestalker" series and has certainly taken the drama to a whole new level. This series combines the best of the mystery genre with an added dash of sci-fi and the supernatural to constantly keep your heart racing and mind puzzling. The plot is an absolute twisting and turning delight and the cast of characters so diverse and realistic, you'll feel you've jumped the portal right along with Kannon. I found myself so deeply immersed in the action and unwinding mystery that I had a hard time putting it down. I could have quite happily climbed into the pages and given Kannon a helping hand myself; I was on tenterhooks the whole journey. Not only is this so vividly rich and high-octane level drama, there was just something so deeply compelling about the playground Roberts' has created... This truly is mystery at its finest and Kannon a fresh new breed of P.I... Hoodwink is a definite 5/5 star read and I can't wait to see where Kannon leads us next.'

'...despite Hoodwink being the second book in Rhonda Roberts's Timestalker series, it absolutely stands alone. You don't have to have read the first book, Gladiatrix, although it's definitely worth reading for its own sake... This is a book not short on conspiracy... As in Gladiatrix, I like the fact that Kannon can look after herself... and that many of the people who try to cross her (violently, at least) are rapidly dealt with.' Rating: 4.5 / 5 stars.'

'...there are a lot of glamorous Hollywood stars, an epic movie set and the Hollywood hills to explore. There are break and enters, fortuitous discoveries and hand to hand combats ...an entertaining read with numerous twists and turns and a very complex and brilliantly linked-together plot. ...I strongly suspect there are many, many more Timestalker installments to come.'

Reviews of Gladiatrix

'intriguing and fast-paced ... definitely looking forward to Hoodwink'. ticon4.com

'enough action, scheming and plot twists to keep the most jaded thriller-reader happy. The characters are wonderful'

'...Gladiatrix is the best time travel based story to come out in years. Roberts has improved upon the genre immensely and made it for a modern audience to be able to enjoy. 4.6 / 5 [stars]

'I had really high expectations after reading the synopsis on the back of this book. I imagined it would contain aspects of time travel similar to Dr Who, combined with the raw power and energy of the movie Gladiator. I was not disappointed. From the first page, I was completely immersed in Kannon's world ... there was plenty of crime, action, suspense, and a little romance... I devoured this longer-than-usual book in only a couple of working days as I kept finding excuses to just squeeze in a few more pages... I eagerly await Kannon's future time-travelling adventures.'
Robbie Hutchins, Sisters in Crime Australia

'Roberts handles the fantasy element well... The technology is practical and believable, and the whole concept approached in such a matter-of-fact way that the reader is happy to accept this is what it is... There is some very powerful writing in this book. ...a strong, action-based female protagonist in an historical fantasy thriller. The factual context of the story has a distinct ring of truth... I will follow Kannon's further adventures with interest.'

'Five stars. Her prose is confident, clear and fast paced, dragging me through to the end without remorse or respite (it was about 2am when I finally finished and could go to bed). ...involving ancient Roman intrigue, gladiatorial bouts, acting in plays and trying not to fall in love with the 'hired' help... I give this book top marks for telling me a story I wanted to read in a way I never could have expected reading it.'
